7 AID TO LOCAL GOVERNMENTS, GRANTS AND AIDS - DISTRICT LOTTERY AND SCHOOL
RECOGNITION PROGRAM FROM EDUCATIONAL ENHANCEMENT TRUST FUND
SECTION 1 - EDUCATION ENHANCEMENT
Funds provided in Specific Appropriation 7 are provided for the Florida School
Recognition program to be allocated as awards of up to $75 per student to
qualified schools pursuant to section 1008.36, Florida Statutes.
If there are funds remaining after payment to qualified
schools, up to $5 per unweighted student shall be allocated to be used at the
discretion of the school advisory council pursuant to sections 24.121(5) and
1001.452, Florida Statutes. If funds are insufficient to provide $5 per student,
the available funds shall be prorated.
NOTE: THIS
YEAR (2009-2010) THERE ARE NO FUNDS REMAINING FOR SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT FUNDS ($5).
However, individual counties may provide funds through their own budgets.
Pinellas & Osceola School District is funding the SAC $5 FTE (full time
Equivalent i.e. student) for this year.
